Congratulations on taking this very important step to learn more about marketing your business. It's vital to let others know about your business. However, being uncomfortable, ineffective or inconsistent with marketing efforts will stop your business growth.

- You can't remember the last marketing event you went to where you felt calm and confident?
- You'd prefer to stay at home, behind your computer, than going out to meet people?
- Do you find you're uncomfortable talking about your business to others because you’re afraid to sound too "salesy"?
If so, you’re not alone. Being comfortable and motivated to get out and market yourself and your business can be very difficult for a solopreneur to do well consistently.
I’d like to share 3 important Success Tips to improve your ability to market your business effectively and authentically:

Schedule at least 2 networking events to go to every month and put them in your calendar. If you have a calendar you write in, write those events in ink. Prepay for the event so you’ll take this commitment seriously and attend.

At events, "pretend" that you are the host/hostess of this party. Put a smile on your face introduce yourself to everyone you see. When you have that mindset, you'll not only feel more comfortable at the event, but you'll also help to make others feel that way.

When you meet people at events, ask how you can help them - instead of trying to "sell to them" or monopolizing the conversation talking about your business. People appreciate when someone is trying to help them and that makes them more open to getting to know and like you. It's about "giving" first, instead of trying to "get". BUT, don't do this unless you truly want to help the person.
If any resistance comes up about getting out and marketing your business ("no one will be interested in what I have to say", "whenever I go to these meetings I don't make contacts", etc) these are negative beliefs you need to clear out to achieve your success!
